                     Conflict between working and child care

Nowadays, it is inappropriate to define that childcare is women's responsibility. As the women's right has improved and sexual discrimination of society has been diminished than before, the number of working mom have been surged. In most of our society, however, women still have a responsibility to take care their children and have a trouble to balancing work and care. They want to spend time with their family, but they are too bound up to their work, so haven't got the time to spend. However, this matter of conflict cannot be solved by effort within family unit, but also need a support of society, especially government.

First, regulation of working hours is important. Why did working mothers have conflict with their family? It must be the lack of time. Working moms cannot come home early because of overtime working in their office. For example, in Korea, they often go out 8 a.m. , leave the office after 8p.m. and finally when they came home, it's already late night. in most of companies' quitting time is recommened to 6 p.m., but they do not observe this tactic rule. In this reason, I think government should stregthen the law that regulates overtime work. Furthermore, government also have to supervise the company to obligate this regulation. Lack of leisure time, which is caused by overtime work, can break the harmonious family. When the quitting time be guaranteed, working mom's anxiety will be reduced.

Next we need increase in childcare facilities, especially in office. In my experience, I was only child and my parents both worked, so my grandparents take care of me. However, not every family are in same condition. Working moms often quit their job because they had no one to take care of their child. There are large number of daycare facilities, but moms usually leave their child where are distant from their office. Furthermore, some of facilities are not reliable to leave their child to such a late time. In this reason, it is ideal to make a company care facilities that could care employees' child and made moms possible to check their child's condition frequently. However, there is a law that company with more than 500 employees have to produce daycare facility, but we can hardly find this kind of system in our office. Company should cooperate to this project which can support working women. As daycare service in office can help mothers only focus to their work, and this can be the effective measure to overcome the problems with their child.

So, society's role is important to change the social environment which causes conflict to working moms. There is a proper regulation to support women's working, but more important is the supervising the company to follow a regulation. Working mom's conflict with her family care is not a matter of good and bad. Rather, we should have to find the way to support their work without anxiety to their child. This can be accomplished by effort of everyone, not only women's efforts.
