Dong Heui Kim/Page 25 First Draft/Summer Writing

It is observed that one can expect certain qualities and characteristics from birth order. First, middle, and last child each tends to have particular traits that shapes and influences one's life. This leads to the idea that the youngest child has the happiest lives in terms of the amount of love he or she receives sociability, and freedom.

Normally, youngest child receives more love and attention from parents. Adults will think their eldest is old enough to take care of oneself and therefore focus on cute little child that calls out for their love. So it is quite common to see firstborns bullying their younger siblings when parents are not home. They are jealous of siblings for taking away their love from parents. Moreover, youngest ones are very flexible with other person which enables them to be very sociable. They are apt to be outgoing, polite, and humorous than other birth order. That is because having another sibling teaches how to cope with problems that can occur between relationships which cannot be obtained when you are the only child. They learn relationships from each other through constant fights and conversations. These factors contribute to building their good-natured personality, people are fond of. Furthermore, last child is privileged to enjoy freedom. To be more specific, youngest ones are able to avoid parents' harsh enforcement as it is solely pointed to the oldest child. Parents are much more lenient toward latter child whereas they pressure the eldest to be responsible and mature so that they can become a good model to his or her siblings. In this way, youngest child feels easy and is more relaxed. Even in numerous Korean soap operas, the first son always has to listen to their parents and study hard or work hard in order to support his family. On the other hand, younger siblings are often shown to be immature, living happier life than the eldest as parents do not have much expectation on them.

To sum up, the youngest children are surely privileged in many ways which has them to enjoy happiest life out of all birth order. The hierarchy in birth renders the last child to have wonderful characteristics that make him/her a person that can be easily loved by others. Not only that, they can deviate from parent's expectation and responsibility. Can there be a better life than this?
