The oldest child of the family is usually the perfectionist of the siblings and is at times hard to make friends. It is difficult to find a match from "same sex" siblings who are both the oldest child. This is because both are too independent and likes to deal with problems on their own. The only child who's a girl usually tends to be independent but is able to adjust and adapt to her surroundings if needed. The authors idea isn't accurate but I still can sympathize and see how this theory could be true. Currently I am dating someone who is the oldest child of 2 siblings who has a younger brother. By experience, and from seeing people around me I believe it's true that an only child best fits a female who is the oldest or the middle child of the sibling usually of brothers.
