Seong Ji Lee/Pg 24 Exercise B-2/June 21st Summer Session

Main idea: Among siblings a first born child may live most difficult life, middle child most appealing and a last child happiest.

 

Supports for main idea:

1-a. A first born has to take care of his younger siblings until they grow up and parents expects their first born child to be more parental than his siblings.

1-b. A first born child may feel burdened by his siblings reliance on him.

1-c. Overall, a first born child has more responsibility than his siblings, or at least he may feel like that.

 

2-a. A middle child has older sibling as a reliable companion. He may ask him for a help and advice.

2-b. A middle child tends to have enthusiastic traits, for he is competing with older sibling over their parents' love.

2-c. Overall, a middle child may live most challenging life among his sibling, for he has a rival, who is more experienced than him, to overcome.

 

3-a. Normally, a last born child is apple of parents' eyes. Parents may have gone through trial and error with their other children. So they will try their best to raise their last child to the best.

3-b. His older siblings may feel that they have to take care of him carefully with love, or at least their parents force them to do.

  1. I think this is really great writing. I can understand your main idea easily and supporting ideas are really specific which is great. Also i agree with that the last child is the happiest child among siblings because my brother actually the happiest. Thank you for good writing and good luck
