D-2 What do you think of the old judge?
The old judge seems to be a wise person, because he helps the women who is at risk of divorce by making her realize a way to overcome the difficulties she has in her marriage. However, there are one thing that the judge did wrong. Making the wife realize that she need patience and courage to cope with the problems in her marriage was great, but it was too dangerous to make her pull out a lion's hair. The lion could have killed her. In that sense the judge seems reckless, but I could bear with that since it is just a tale to give the readers a lesson.
E-1 Which character, Esther and the Ethiopian wife, loves more deeply?
I think that the Ethiopian wife loves her husband more deeply than Esther loved Laurence. In fact, I don't think that Esther truly loved Laurence. Laurence's betrayal would be heart breaking for Esther, but how can she kill her lover if she really loved him? I think killing her lover is nowhere near love on any circumstances. On the other hand, even though the Ethiopian wife cursed her husband every day and was ready to divorce, as soon as she heard about a way to fix her relationship with her husband, she was willing to risk her life. I think this courage to do whatever she can to save her relation can be considered love.
Oh, most classmate said the judge is just wise but you claim that the old judge is wise, however is alse wrong. i think this is a unique opinion. i agree your special opinion. i think also that the Mission was so hard and dangerous for the young wife.

I agree with your opinion that it was too dangerous request to get the lion's hair. I think pull out lion's head and problem in marriage do not well match. Although he gave the woman a realization, but the method was not adequate. / Yun jung hwan
