YooJoeng Choe/ StepB(p36) on Ch2/ Prose&Paragraphs Summer2017

When she overheard the conversation between Laurence and Father Paul, she might have felt heartbroken. Her love was over and her native identity(Indian blood) was disrespected. She felt like she was abandoned and betrayed by two people whom she had trusted and loved very much. Finally her love of them became the huge hatred.

I can understand her, how much she got hurt! But, even tho, I think she should have chose other ways. Her behavior, killing Laurence, can not be acceptable to me. She could find other options for her revenge like setting a fire at his home or something.

"They account for it by the fact that I am a Redskin. They seem to have forgotten I am a woman." means that they suspected Esther of killing Laurence because of her race and they didn't care about her feeling at all. All tragedy was started from father Paul breaking her love. But he totally ignored the fact she was a victim of his discrimination.
