Seong Ji Lee/Initial Draft/Summer Session

Among siblings a first born child may live the most difficult life, middle child the most appealing and a last child the happiest. As for a first born, he has to take care of his younger siblings until they grow up and parents expects their first born child to be more parental than his siblings. For this child may feel burdened by his expectations from his parents and siblings on him. Overall, a first born child is expected to have more responsibility than his siblings.

While first born suffers from too much expectation, a middle child enjoys several advantages for having an older sibling as a reliable companion. He may ask him for a help and advice. Also, a middle child tends to have enthusiastic traits, for he is competing with older sibling over their parents' love. A middle child may live most challenging life among his sibling, for he has a rival, who is more experienced than him, to overcome. Overall, a middle child gets less attention from his parents, making him more liberal with his doings, also, he tends to challenge his older sibling, resulting him to have most adventurous life among his brothers.

Normally, a last born child is apple of parents' eyes. Parents may have gone through trial and error with their other children. So they will try their best to raise their last child to the best. Also, his older siblings may feel that they have to take care of him carefully with love, or at least their parents force them to do. It is needless to say that the last child will be raised with most love among his siblings.

  1. Hi, I'm Kim taekmin
I see that you are basically agreeing with the author, that birth order have powerful affect on the children's life. Maybe it would be better if you can add actual examples to your work. It was nice reading your work, thanks.
